Dear Members,
The
results of the count are in and the majority of the
membership has voted AGAINST the Tentative Agreement. I
am pleased to see the turnout of how many members took
the time to vote and be heard whether or not they were
from the East or the West. To have over 90% voter
turnout is phenomenal! Everyone stood firm and had their
voices heard whether they were for or against this TA.
We all need to continue to band together for the
ultimate goal to get a contract that benefits us all.
I would like to thank each and every one of you for
taking the time to stand up and be counted. This has
been a long and difficult process for all of us and it
is my hope that we will all put our differences aside
and move forward in a true spirit of solidarity.
The MEC, JNC and our staff negotiators will now meet to
decide the direction we will take. As these steps are
determined, I will convey them to you as quickly as
possible. I remain committed to the membership and to
our goal of achieving the contract we deserve.
