(5) Q. Are there circumstances where my NFL day may be rescinded?
Yes. Keep in mind that NFL days are only awarded to resolve the 24/7 legality
conflict. If that conflict is resolved through other means - for example, but
not limited to, PER day or SCK day - then crew scheduling will remove the NFL
day and notify you that you will be back on duty/on call for that day.
Note: The Company representative handling the call relating to, for example,
a SCK or PER day would notify you that such event gave you 24 hours free from
all duty; therefore, the scheduled NFL day was removed.
Note: This is also true if you are assigned or pick up a trip with 24 hrs
free from duty, scheduling can rescind your NFL day. The 24 hours free from duty
does not have to be in base as some people have been saying. (know the facts)
Understaffing Pay
If an International flight is NOT
staffed with a LODO, BUT is staffed with a non-LODO
Flight Attendant, then there is no understaffing pay.
LODO is an ADD position but can be covered by non-LODO's to avoid the
understaffing pay. If the Company puts no one in the position then Understaffing
does apply.
Contract page 9-32; K,1.
The company will pay understaffing for each segment identified as needing an
ADD/BID position if such position is not covered in accordance with the
pre-determined parameters. An aircraft lacking one or more ADD/SUPP flight
attendant in accordance with the parameters established by the Company will
result in the payment of understaffing on the understaffed segment(s), but will
not exceed $10.50 per hour or fraction thereof per flight attendant for the
understaffed segment(s).
Split Pairings
Contract 10-13; Q,2.
When a duty period consists solely of a deadhead flight into position to pick up
or return to domicile from a split trip, the flight attendant will receive a
2:00 VM or deadhead pay/no credit, whichever is greater.
Pairing Rig (1 for 3:30)
If you have a trip that contains a deadhead or a trip that is delayed returning
to base on your last day, you may have a claim for Time Away from Base. In order
to calculate what your trip should pay, go to screen 23 and divide your total
TAFB by 3.5, and this will calculate what the trip should actually pay.
