VOLCANIC ASH CAUSING EUROPEAN FLIGHT CANCELLATIONS

TO: All CLT and PHL based flight attendants:

Due to the eruption of a volcano in Iceland, the volcanic ash is causing flight cancellations not seen since 9/11. It is unknown at this time when operations in affected European stations will return to normal.

For pay purposes, keep in mind that if any portion of your transatlantic pairing is flown, you are pay protected for the full value of that pairing. If both segments cancel, then pay protection only applies if it is your last trip of the month or last series of trips. Refer to Section 9-23 of your contract regarding Last Series of Trips.

Please contact crew scheduling for the status of your transatlantic flight.
