A DAY OF ACTION

After 5 long years of merger negotiations and a pathetic wage offer increase that is so early ninety's. The time is long over due to have the company become aware that we are UNITED and in need to be acknowledged for our hard work, professionalism and sacrifices we have made over the last 10 years. Our efforts need to be rewarded. In contrast, Managements efforts are always handsomely rewarded both in good and bad times. There is long standing adage, "the squeaky wheel gets the grease", well, it is time to start squeaking!!! The stark reality is that the company’s latest offer would not pass a ratification vote in 1995 let alone 2011.

AFA has designated THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 17, 2011 as a DAY OF ACTION.  All members are feeling overworked, underpaid, abused, US Airways' Execs Get the Goldmine, Flight Attendants Get the Shaft. It's Just Not Right!stressed, frustrated, aggravated and unappreciated. We are asking you to appear and picket at the below airport locations. The dress code is to wear black or navy blue . We have been informed that uniforms are not permitted. The time for the picketing in PHL, DCA and CLT IS 11:00am till 1:00pm. The time for PHX picketing is 9:00am till 11:00am.  I am aware many of us are commuters with the recent base closures. I also realize that we are away from home much of the time, so your extra effort and determination to attend is greatly appreciated. The company has posted 500 million dollars in profits this past year during a struggling economy. I believe this gives the company 500 million reasons to give us a merged agreement that rewards us for our efforts.  The company is all too willing to continue their delay tactics with more pathetic offers. Apparently, and unfortunately, our hard work and professionalism will not get this done alone. We must stand together and give the company a solid reason to provide us with an acceptable merged agreement.
