UPDATE ON THE CREW OF 1549
The crew of 1549 is at home and resting comfortably. Those that attended the
inauguration said they enjoyed the experience but are exhausted. Doreen Welsh is
recovering nicely at home.
The Union has received numerous requests from Flight Attendants asking for ways
to express their thoughts and appreciation.
We have two ways for you to do that - You may send cards or letters addressed to
the crew to the AFA MEC Office at the following address:
The US Airways Master Executive Council
205 Regency Executive Park Drive, Suite 310
Charlotte, NC 28217
We will make sure the crew receives your communications.
In addition, you can show your appreciation another way. CLT based F/A Kim
Johnson, had a great suggestion for all Flight Attendant to be given a blue and
white ribbons to wear in recognition of the crew. The ribbons can be fastened to
your wings. The Company has agreed to allow Flight Attendants to wear the
ribbons until the end of the month.
There will be AFA reps in all domiciles tomorrow and Friday to distribute the
ribbons.
As far a media reports and information are concerned I must repeat again that,
as a party to the NTSB investigation, the Union is restricted from distributing
information regarding the actions of the Flight Attendants until the NTSB
releases that information. USAPA has the same restriction, but because the NTSB
has released more detailed information regarding the decisions and
communications by the Captain and First Officer USAPA has been able to release
that information.
AFA will release as much information as we can at the appropriate time.
The crew has also asked me to convey their best wishes to all of you.
Thank you,
Mike Flores, President The US Airways Master Executive Council AFA-CWA
