  • JNC UPDATE - ROAD SHOWS BEGIN WEDNESDAY

ROAD SHOWS BEGIN WEDNESDAY

The Tentative Agreement Road Shows begin  Wednesday, February 15, 2012 in PHL. The complete Road Show schedule is available by clicking here: http://afausairways.org/Merger/jncupdate020812.htm

When you see the complete schedule, you will see this a very extensive schedule. We did this for a reason.  On the East, our last contract road shows and time frame were severally limited by the fact we were in bankruptcy. The bankruptcy court ordered a very short road show and voting schedule. We are under no such order now. On the West, it has been a very long time since a TA was sent out for a vote.

Although we would like to visit every city that ever had a domicile in our system- that is impossible.  The goal of the JNC is to visit each domicile a minimum of three times and blend the schedule to target cities where a high concentration of commuting flight attendants reside.

An example, would be GSO. We have scheduled two shows in CLT and one in GSO because when we looked at our demographics we saw a large percentage of CLT-based flight attendants who live in the GSO, INT (Winston-Salem) and RDU.  We are holding a show in LAX for the same reason. The JNC used the same process in setting meeting in Florida.  Our Mobilizer Committee Chair and her support staff faced numerous challenges securing  meeting venues that coincided with the "ideal" schedule of dates and cities the JNC tasked them to accomplish.  The "ideal" plan on paper is not always obtainable.

During this first round of shows, the JNC believes a comprehensive overview of the entire TA is necessary.  In order to do that we plan two session at each location.  In further Road Shows, the agenda may be altered to discuss other items in more detail as a result of member feedback.

During the first round of shows, the first session will begin at 1000 and end at 1230, the second session will begin at 1330 and end at 1600.

The JNC has a detailed Power Point Presentation for each session that should last an hour. That leaves a long period for a Q and A session. All questions will be noted, and the JNC will publish Q and A Elines as the road show process continues.

Around the mid-point of the schedule the JNC will post a video on our web site. The Road Show Power Point presentation will be posted this week.

Each flight attendant will also receive hard copies of information mailed to their homes.
