Dear Members,

Public Hearing Flight 1549

The public hearing for US Airways flight 1549 accident (which occurred on Jan.15, 2009) will be held June 9-11, 2009. The three day hearing will be held at the NTSB (National Transportation Safety Board) Conference Room at L'Enfant Plaza in Washington, DC.

  • Day 1 (Tuesday 6/9) will go from 09:00-18:30. Captain Sullenberger will be the first witness.
     

  • Day 2 (Wednesday 6/10) will go from 08:00-18:30. Cabin Safety: Training, Procedures and Equipment will be discussed. Robert "Bob" Hemphill-US Airways Director of Inflight Training, Policies and Procedures will be testifying.
     

  • Day3 (Thursday 6/11) will go from 08:00-12:00.

In addition to the two items of interest, there will be many other witnesses, testimonies and evidence affecting all aspects of the accident.

The hearing will be broadcasted live on the NTSB website, which is www.ntsb.gov. In an unprecedented proceeding, all of the exhibits/documents pertaining to US Airways 1549 will be on line effective Tuesday June 9, 2009.
