...the US Airways MEC Uniform Newsletter

Dear Members,

IT'S HERE! (finally)

The powers that be have finally settled on a date for the uniform.

Vice President of In-flight Services Sherry Shamblin released the following:

Employees will be allowed to wear their new uniforms beginning Monday, May 05, 2008. Those employees who do not have a complete uniform will be permitted to wear their current uniform. They cannot mix and match the new and the old uniform. It's all of one or all of the other. Effective Monday, June 02, 2008, all employees are to be in their new uniform.

The new guidelines for the uniform were placed in flight attendant mailboxes this week. Take some to review them. If you question or concerns contact your supervisor for final clarification or as always you may contact me or Candi.

TwinHill has informed the company that by the end of April 98% of all uniform orders will have been shipped. If you do not have your uniforms or your uniforms were listed as a special order (medical exemption, sizing, etc.) please contact TwinHill customer service, todd.vigil@usairways.com or valerie.dirks@usairways.com to check on the status of your uniform. In addition TwinHill has notified the company the several employees listed a P.O. Box for their delivery address. FedEx WILL NOT deliver to a P.O. Box. If you have not received your uniform order or are missing items and have listed a P.O. Box please contact TwinHill as soon as possible to rectify the delivery address.

Many of the female flight attendants have expressed issues/concerns with the new "all weather coat." The four MEC Uniform Chairs have expressed your concerns to in-flight management and have not received any direction/resolution on what the final outcome is going to be regarding the coat. If you would like to express your concerns regarding the "all weather coat" you may do so by contacting Paul Kinsey Paul.Kinsey@usairways.com and professionally relay your concerns and issues you have experienced with the "all weather coat." We hope to have a final resolution to this issue by our next e-line.

Thank you for taking the time to be informed.
