TRANSFER BID REOPENED

As a result of the need to displace 89 Flight Attendants to CLT the Company has decided to reopen the voluntary Transfer Bid. The Bid will now close on Sunday, June 27.

At the Union's urging, Vice President of InFlight, Hector Adler sent a letter explaining the Company's reasons for the growth in CLT and therefore the need to increase the CLT Flight Attendant staffing. Mr. Adler's letter contained a lot of words but very few actual numbers. The Union has been able to determine that CLT Block Hours will increase and PHL Block Hours will decrease (in addition to the normal fall reduction as a result of the pull down of seasonal transatlantic flying) on a long term basis.

As stated in yesterday's Eline, the Union still believes we have the right to be updated on a regular basis on block hour projections by domicile. That information will allow us to inform our members of what the Company is doing with flying as they continue to realign the airline.

The reason the Union has pushed for a more detailed explanation of where the flying is going and why should be self evident to the Company. People need to know what to expect as they make important decisions regarding their work lives.
